How To Make Money Selling Drugs

So one of the two movie that I saw this week was How To Make Money Selling Drugs. (I would have seen three but I had to know how True Detective ended, so that ate up some time). HTMMSD is an odd bird. It is a 2012 documentary about, well, I think you can figure that one out by yourself. The first two thirds of the movie is exactly what it claims to be. Not a satire or spoof, but a just a step by step guide of how to be successful as a drug dealer in America, as taught by people who have much experience in that field (famous rappers, former police officers, thugs, lawyers, etc). It is all done in a seemingly straight faced manor, that almost seems too good to be true. And SPOILER ALERT, it is. After glancing at the time after the process was finished (the movie treats the illegal drug business like a video game with different levels, bosses, and so on) and realizing that the movie still had 30 min left, I knew what had to be coming.
Why I haven't Seen So Many Big Movies

There are a bunch of HUGE movies I haven't seen, but I think there is a good reason for that .One of the things I love most about talking about movies is discovering some tiny, indie thing and trying to convince all of your friends about how awesome it is. So I will usually take a chance with something like a foreign movie as opposed to finally sitting my ass down to watch, say, Saving Private Ryan, because it's great, and I already know it's great, and if I talk about how great it is no one will care, so what's the point? But if I watch something because the poster and description sounds intriguing, the risk of it being terrible is higher, but the reward for it being awesome is also much higher.

Introduction

I am not a great writer so I will try and keep these brief.
I am a 17 year old in the United States. I love movies and aspire to make them one day. Last January, I made three New Year's Resolutions. The only one I kept is that I must watch at least one film a week. Until this point, I would want to post my opinions on these movies somewhere, but could only think to do so on my Facebook page. Unfortunately I found that only a small percentage of my friends cared about what I had to say and for the rest I was getting annoying. Also, I wanted to be able to have a more open discussion about movies with people besides my immediate friend group. Thus, this blog was born.

I will try to keep to at least a once a week schedule, but I am a student, so no promises. I will not be using any sort of star or rating system, just general discussion.

Now, what is that title about?
Well, very often I will be discussing movies with someone (as I am want to do) and it will come up that I haven't seen some great movie. The response to this-every time without fail-is the person yelling "YOU HAVEN'T SEEN (Insert popular movie title here)!?!" and me having to admit that no, I have not. Join me as I try and fill in my gaps in movies, and share my opinions with you. And hopefully get yelled at less.
